Directions from Assumption (minutes from Assumption)




Louisville Area Locations

Charlie Vettiner Park (25 minutes):

Option #1 (much simpler and no left turn on a busy street):
1. Turn right on Bardstown Road and drive south to the Gene Snyder Freeway (I-265)
2. Get on the Gene Snyder and go east/north to the very next exit – Billtown Road
3. Exit at Billtown Road and turn left (north)
4. Continue down Billtown Road until you see the sign for the entrance to Charlie Vettiner Park at Mary Dell Lane and turn right
5. Continue down Mary Dell Lane until you reach the park.

Option #2 (includes left turn on a busy street):
1. Turn right on Bardstown Road and drive south and after 20 minutes or so, depending on traffic, you’ll pass by Hurstbourne Pkwy
2. About 7-8 streets after Hurstbourne Pkwy, turn left onto Fairgrounds Road
3. To stay on Fairgrounds Rd, you’ll be turning right, then left, then right
4. Fairgrounds Rd takes you to Billtown Road, where you turn right
5. Very soon, you should see a sign for Charlie Vettiner Park at Mary Dell Lane, turn left there and continue into the park itself.


McNeely Lake (35 minutes):
1. Take I-264 west and then I-65 south
2. Continue down I-65 south to the Gene Snyder (I-265) and take the I-265 east
3. Continue on I-265 east to Smyrna Road
4. Take the Smyrna Road offramp, turning right onto Smyrna Road
5. After a short while, you'll see Cooper Chapel Road on your left
6. Turn left onto Cooper Chapel Road
7. McNeely Lake will be on your right side
8. After entering the Park, you'll see the gazebo and restroom facility on your right - continue to the parking lot on your left


River Road Country Club/Champions Park (20 minutes):

Option #1 (all surface streets from Assumption):
1. Drive east on Tyler Lane and then go straight across Taylorsville Road (at the traffic light) onto Pee Wee Reese (you'll be driving alongside Bowman Field)
2. At the stop sign (t-intersection between the 2 areas of the Seneca Golf Course), turn right and head toward Seneca Park
3. After crossing over the bridge (I-64), you’ll see the Seneca Park basketball courts on your right
4. Turn left on the very first street
5. Just after turning left, you'll get to the stop sign - turn left at this stop sign and you should wind around (through another stop sign) along what should be Garden Drive
6. Continue through the traffic light at Lexington Rd (where the street name changes to Stilz)
7. After another half mile, you’ll get to a t-intersection and traffic light at Frankfort Ave
8. Turn right on Frankfort, and then left on the first street (Hillcrest) - as you turn left you'll be going over the RR tracks
9. Continue on Hillcrest through the traffic light at Brownsboro (street name changes to Zorn after you cross Brownsboro)
10. You'll go up, then over and down a hill - right into a school zone, so watch your speed along Zorn (lots of tickets are given out here)
11. Go down the hill on Zorn Avenue all the way to the freeway (I-71)
12. Go under the freeway straight to the Water Tower (other side of River Road)
13. Depending on the meet, you can either park inside the River Road CC facility (small weekday meets), park along River Road, or park on the grass or road inside the Water Tower area

Option #2 (much simpler - mostly freeway):
1. Take Bardstown Road (south) to the I-264 and go east
2. Continue on I-264 to the I-71
3. Stay in one of the two left-side lanes and take I-71 South, toward Louisville
4. Continue down I-71 toward Louisville, the first exit should be at Zorn Avenue and the Water Tower
5. Exit the I-71 at Zorn Avenue and turn right at the end of the offramp
6. After turning right onto Zorn you'll be heading straight toward the Water Tower - River Road Country Club/Champions Park is on your left side
7. Depending on the meet, you can either park inside the River Road CC facility (small weekday meets), park along River Road, or park on the grass or road inside the Water Tower area


Shelby County HS (45 min)
1. Take I-264 east to I-64 and continue toward Lexington
2. Take I-64 east to Exit #35 (should be the exit for Hwy 53)
3. Turn left at the end of the offramp (i.e. turn left and go back over I-64)
4. Continue down Hwy 53 for about 2 miles, until you get to US-60
5. Turn right at US-60 (you should see a McDonalds on your left)
6. Continue down US-60 about 2 miles
7. You should eventually see Shelby County HS on your left side
8. When Shelby County HS is on your left, you'll get to a traffic light at Rocket Lane
9. Turn left on Rocket Lane (Shelby Co HS will still be on your left)
10. Continue down Rocket Lane until you reach a t-intersection at Benson Pike
11. The CC course entrance is across the street and to the left of the Benson Pike/Rocket Ln intersection -- parking is typically in the lot on your left side (at what appears to be a school)


Shively Park (30 minutes):
1. Take I-264 west (continue past I-65)
2. Merge into the right-hand lane as you get closer to the Dixie Hwy offramp
3. Take the Dixie Hwy/31W exit on your right (should be Exit 8A)
4. Merge onto Dixie Hwy
5. As you continue down Dixie Hwy, the 2nd traffic light should be Crum's Lane (just past Shively Sporting Goods)
6. About a block after going through the traffic signal at Crum's Lane, you should see a road that borders a fast food restaurant (Burger King?) and a public library - turn left on this street and enter the driveway that takes you to the library parking lot
7. Shively Park is behind this library (and Fire Station)
(it's not easy to see this Park from Dixie Hwy, so realize that if you drive for more than a few minutes after passing Crum's Lane, you've probably passed the park


Lexington Area Locations

Kentucky Horse Park (70 minutes):
1. Take I-64 west to I-75 north (to Cincinnati)
2. As you merge onto I-75 north, you’ll want to take the first exit (Iron Works Pike)
3. Turn right on Iron Works Pike
4. When you see the second entrance to the Horse Park (the Campground entrance), turn left
5. Driving into the Horse Park, you’ll continue through to wherever they are parking vehicles
(follow the road around and park behind the campground - don’t park along the road or RV dump stations)


Masterson Station Park (60 minutes):
1. Take I-264 east to I-64 and continue toward Lexington
2. You'll be taking the offramp for Leestown Road/Hwy 421
3. From the offramp, you'll make a right turn onto Hwy 341 and then a left onto Hwy 421/Leestown Rd
4. Continue along Leestown Road (should be about 7 miles)
5. Masterson Station Park is on your left side


Other Out-of-State Locations

Kenwood High School Directions

Kenwood HS via Nashville (just under 3 hrs - a bit more roundabout, but mostly all freeway):
1. From I-264, take I-65 SOUTH
2. When you approach Nashville, take the I-24 WEST to Clarksville (exit 88-B)
3. Leave I-24 at Hwy 79 (exit 4)
4. From the offramp, turn left onto Hwy 79/Wilma Rudolph Blvd
5. Go west on Hwy 79/Wilma Rudolph Blvd (into Clarksville)
6. Turn right onto Hwy 374 (101st Airborne Pkwy)
7. Continue on Hwy 374 until you see Kenwood HS on your left
8. Exit on Peacher’s Mill Road (just past Kenwood HS)
9. Turn left again onto East Pine Mountain Rd (as you drive alongside the soccer fields)
10. Continue to the end of the road, you should be able to drive around the open fields (right side) to the CC course

Kenwood HS via Russellville (just under 3 hrs - but you can get stuck behind farm equipment):
1. From I-264, take I-65 SOUTH
2. Just past Bowling Green,take the William H Natcher Pkwy north (exit 20)
3. Exit at US-68/80 (Russellville, Exit 5)
4. Continue on US-68 to Russellville
5. When the Russellville Comfort Inn is on your rightturn/angle left onto US-79 (also called W 9th Street)
6. Continue on US-79
7. As you enter Clarksville, you'll go under the I-24 (which becomes Wilma Rudolph Blvd)
8. Continue along Wilma Rudolph Blvd
9. Turn right onto Hwy 374 (101st Airborne Pkwy)
10. Continue on Hwy 374 until you see Kenwood HS on your left
11. Exit on Peacher’s Mill Road (just past Kenwood HS)
12. Turn left again onto East Pine Mountain Rd (as you drive alongside the soccer fields)
13. Continue to the end of the road, you should be able to drive around the open fields (right side) to the CC course
