Assumption Cross Country

You've arrived at the Assumption Cross Country team website. Assumption's first Cross Country team was formed in 1981 and in that inaugural year the team won the Regional Championship. Since that time, we've finished in the top three every year since 2005, winning State Championships in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. This site is not only a source of current season team information, but is also dedicated toward highlighting the accomplishments of the many Assumption Cross Country athletes who have competed since that first season.

2016 Cross Country

2016 Cross Country officially begins on July 15, but the team meets informally prior to that point (June 1-July 9). Informal runs are optional, but provide opportunities for girls to meet, run and spend time together as a group. A schedule of these runs, along with an official Summer practice schedule and all relevant joining information can be found in the Summer Practice Info link at this website and by clicking here.

AHS CC 4-peat

In closing out the 2013 season, Assumption Cross Country won a 4th consecutive State title and 6th State Championship in 7 years. This also marks 9 consecutive years where the Rockets have finished in the top 3 at State, a strong testimony to the hard work, effort and dedication of many runners who've competed for us over the years. Results from the State Meet can be found at the following link.

St Francis High School, Our Sister Team

Assumption Cross Country has a sister team relationship with the St Francis High School Cross Country team, a former State Champion girls program in (Sacramento) California. We visited St Francis during the Fall 2007 season and competed in the Granite Bay Invitational, and St Francis visited Louisville in 2010 and competed in our Academy Meet. We'll be travelling back to Sacramento in 2011, with the current plan being that each team will visit the other every 4 years. Here are links to the St Francis Cross Country Team website and St Francis High School website.
